Deep Cleaning Vs. Standard Cleaning in Phoenix: What’s the Difference?

What each level includes, how long it takes, what it costs and which one your home needs.

A standard clean maintains a home that is already in good shape: kitchen and bathroom surfaces, dusting, floors, beds and trash. A deep clean covers all of that and then adds the detail work a standard visit skips: baseboards, cabinet fronts, the oven hood vent, doors and door frames, light switches and door knobs, window sills and frames. In Phoenix and Scottsdale, Greater Phoenix Cleaning’s standard one-time clean starts at $195 and deep cleaning starts at $350.

Each level includes everything in the level before it. The full line-by-line list is on the cleaning checklist; prices are on the pricing page.

What Is Included in a Standard Clean?

A standard clean is routine upkeep. In the kitchen: counters, backsplash, sink, stovetop and burners, the inside and outside of the microwave, table and chairs, floors swept and mopped, trash out. In bathrooms: showers and shower glass, tub, tile grout scrubbed, toilet inside and out, sinks, mirrors, counters, cabinet fronts, floors. In bedrooms and living areas: dusting of furniture, lamps, shelves and ceiling fans, mirrors, light switches and door knobs, beds made and sheets changed with clean sheets you supply, floors vacuumed and mopped, cobwebs removed.

What Does a Deep Clean Add?

A deep clean adds the surfaces where dust and grease build up between routine visits: cabinet fronts and handles, the oven hood vent, baseboards dusted and wiped down, doors and door frames, light switches and door knobs disinfected, window sills and frames wiped. Reachable shelves that are clear are included. Inside the oven, refrigerator and dishwasher, and interior windows, are add-ons on both levels unless you book a move-out clean.

How Long Does Each Clean Take?

A standard clean of a typical Valley home runs about two to three hours. A deep clean usually takes four to six hours because every baseboard, cabinet front and door frame gets handled. Move-out cleans run longer again because appliance and cabinet interiors are included. Your quote lists the planned window for your home.

How Much More Does a Deep Clean Cost?

Standard one-time cleaning of a home around 1,600 square feet starts at $195. Deep cleaning starts at $350 for homes up to 1,500 square feet and rises by size band: $432 up to 2,100 square feet, $576 up to 2,700, $720 up to 3,300 and $864 up to 4,000. The difference pays for the detail work in the table above, not a longer version of the same tasks. See the Phoenix house cleaning cost guide for market comparisons.

Which One Does Your Home Need?

Choose a standard clean if the home is already maintained and you want it reset: counters, bathrooms, floors and dusting. Choose a deep clean if any of these are true:

  • It has been more than a couple of months since the last professional clean.
  • Baseboards, door frames or the tops of cabinets show a visible dust line.
  • The kitchen hood vent or cabinet fronts feel tacky from cooking grease.
  • You are starting recurring service and want the first visit to catch everything up.
  • Monsoon season just ended and dust has settled on every ledge, sill and frame.
  • Guests, a listing photo shoot or a holiday are coming and you want the detail done once, properly.

Choose a move-in / move-out clean only for an empty home; it is the one level that includes the inside of the oven, refrigerator, cabinets and drawers by default.

Should Your First Recurring Visit Be a Deep Clean?

Not required, but recommended when there is buildup. A recurring visit follows the standard checklist, so detail work left from before the first visit stays there. Starting with a separately quoted deep clean means every later visit is maintenance, not catch-up. If you already keep the home well, you can start on the recurring checklist directly. Recurring cleaning starts at $180 per visit.

Phoenix Dust and Hard Water: Why Detail Work Matters Here

Valley homes collect fine dust on horizontal surfaces faster than homes in wetter climates, and hard water leaves mineral film on shower glass and fixtures. A standard clean handles the glass and the grout on every visit. A deep clean is where sills, frames, baseboards and cabinet fronts get wiped rather than dusted. Our hard-water guide covers product choices for each surface between visits.

Deep Clean Vs. Standard Clean Questions

What Is the Difference Between a Deep Clean and a Standard Clean?

A standard clean covers kitchen and bathroom surfaces, dusting, floors, beds and trash. A deep clean covers the standard checklist and adds baseboards, cabinet fronts, the oven hood vent, doors and door frames, light switches and door knobs, and window sills and frames.

Does a Deep Clean Include Inside the Oven and Refrigerator?

Not by default. Inside the oven is $50, inside the refrigerator is $50 and inside the dishwasher is $25 as add-ons. Move-in / move-out cleaning includes appliance and cabinet interiors.

How Long Does a Deep Clean Take in Phoenix?

Usually four to six hours for a typical home, compared with two to three hours for a standard clean. Larger homes and heavier buildup take longer; your quote lists the planned window.

How Often Should a Phoenix Home Be Deep Cleaned?

It depends on the home and the recurring schedule. Common times are the first visit before recurring service, after monsoon season, before hosting and after a remodel. If baseboards, frames and cabinet fronts show buildup, it is time.

Is a Deep Clean Worth It?

If the detail surfaces have buildup, yes: a standard clean will not touch them, so the home never feels fully reset. If the home is already maintained, a standard clean is the better value.

Can I Book a Deep Clean Without Recurring Service?

Yes. A one-time deep clean does not require a recurring plan. If you want regular visits afterward, the ongoing price is confirmed separately.
